Communicating with Impact

Often at the root of many workplace issues is the inability to appropriately communicate and hear what others are saying. Effective communication keeps issues from escalating and makes the workplace a more efficient and harmonious environment. It transforms the way people relate to each other and work together and creates an experience that resonates with people to inspire action. This course will address responsible communication, recognizing barriers to responsibly communicating, identifying the value of listening with awareness, and increase one’s ability to be heard by others. At the root of communication is the ability to understand and be aware of one’s own inner voice. Developing this awareness is key to taking responsibility for words, feelings, and actions. There are multiple levels of listening and this course will address having a quiet the mind in order to be fully present while interacting with another in the workplace. Participants will also discern the difference between a directive and a judgment, as well as how to become aware of nonverbal behaviors including technology limitations when conveying messages.
